  • I am under 18, can I get a treatment done?
Yes! If you are under 18, your parent/guardian must either be present in the room/drop off, or sign a waiver prior to your appointment. Minors are not allowed to sign their own consultation forms.
  • Can I bring my partner/friend/family member with me?
Unfortunately we don't accept any guests at this moment.
  • Do I have to pay a deposit to book a service?
Yes. All services require a deposit in-order for you appointment to be accepted. Please check your email for deposit instructions.
  • POLICY

NO CALL/TEXT NO SHOW will result in never being able to book with us again. NO EXTRA GUESTS/KIDS LASH FILLS : Your lashes MUST be 50% full. • Do I need to make an appointment or can I walk in?
Appointments are mandatory. If you have booked online, you will be notified via e-mail once your appointment is accepted.
  • Can I bring my small children to the appointment?
Although we love kids, we strongly recommend against bringing your child. This is not the ideal environment for a small child, and we cannot offer supervision for your children. Our insurance does not cover unattended children in our salon, and we would hate for anything to happen. Like all beauty salons, there are things like hot wax, steamers, chemicals, sharp items and other things that are not good for little people to get their hands on. For safety reasons, children are not permitted at Youforia Esthetics, if they are brought in we will not proceed with your appointment and you will need to be re-scheduled.
  • I already sent my deposit, will I get it back if I need to cancel my appointment?
    Unfortunately, deposits are non-refundable.
  • Should I expect to experience break outs after my facial service?
It is possible to break out after receiving a facial. When doing a lot of extractions to clear out bumps, sometimes not all of the lodged oil will come out and because we don't force anything that doesn't want to come out. Some purging can occur a day or two after a facial as the pore does its own self-cleaning. A post-facial breakout makes perfect sense and can even be considered a good sign. The deep cleanse is working; it just also happened to skip ahead and force out any breakouts lingering underneath the surface.
  • Can I wear make-up to my appointment?
Although it's best to come with a clean facial, it is completely okay to come in with a. full face of makeup! A deep cleansing service will always be provided and will remove any dirt, oil or debris from your skin.
  • What should I experience after my facial?
You will leave your service feeling hydrated and relaxed and your skin will look healthy and glowing. If your appointment is later in the day we typically prepare your skin for night and no cleansing is necessary before bed. If your service is completed early in the day protection products will be applied and cleansing before bed will be recommended.
  • Should I get a facial right before an important event?
No. Treatments often cause skin to look worse before it looks better, as it cleans out your pores and can help bring up any pustules that were still at its papule stage at the time of your appointment. The best time to get a facial is one-two weeks before you want your skin at its best. This will allow any residual blotchiness to fade and be replaced with a gorgeous look-at-me glow.
  • Can I receive a facial if I have eyelash extensions?
Absolutely! No products will be applied over the eye, and a lash-bath will be included in your facial.
  • How do eyelash extensions work?
    1. Isolate one natural eyelash at a time: The technician will use tweezers to separate the individual eyelashes, in order to ensure that each extension is applied to a single natural lash. 2. Pick one extension from the lash tray: The technician will then pick one extension or multiple for fans from the tray and dip it into the adhesive. 3. Attach the extension: Using tweezers, the technician will attach the extension to the natural lash. It’s important to note that the extension never touches the skin. 4. Repeat the process: The technician will repeat this process until they have applied every single extension to each natural lash.
  • I've had lashes done elsewhere, can I book a fill in?
No. We do not fill-in any foreign lashes. You can always book a lash removal along with a full set of your preferred style.
  • What are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are synthetic or natural fibers that are attached to your natural eyelashes one by one with a medical-grade adhesive to give the appearance of longer, fuller and thicker eyelashes. The extensions come in different lengths, thicknesses, and curls that are customized to create a variety of looks.
  • Can you rub your eyes with eyelash extensions?
If you are wearing lashes, avoid rubbing your eyes whenever possible. When you rub your eye, the friction can cause your lashes to twist our of place- in some cases they can be rippled out by a stray fingernail or knuckle! If your eyes are itchy or dry, keep moisturizing eye-drops on hand and try your best not to rub. This can be hard for those with hay fever or seasonal allergies, but we promise that healthy, glamorous lashes are worth it!
  • Does castor oil work for lashes?
Castor oil contains fatty acids that have been reported to help with lash growth – the oil nourishes your natural lashes and hydrates the skin around your eyes. As you may have guessed, however, castor oil is one of those unfortunate oil products that attacks the glue bonding your eyelash extensions and causes lifted lashes to drop. If you’re planning to use castor oil on your lashes, its best to try it when you’re having a break from all other lash treatments. If you’re not loving your natural lashes, there are plenty of other solutions out there – and many of them can be worn with lash extensions and lash lifts!
  • Do lash extensions work on straight lashes or very blonde/fair lashes?
The short answer: absolutely, in both cases! The long answer: We customize our lash extensions to each client’s natural lashes – we apply tailored extensions to straight lashes, naturally curly lashes, gappy lashes, thin lashes and those that are already thick and full – and everything in between. Lash extensions are also great for those with naturally pale or blonde lashes too – though our lash extension fibres are a dark black, they are very fine and still blend well with your natural lashes. It doesn’t look strange, we promise – you will love them!
  • Can I swim, shower, or get my lash extensions wet?
Yes. This is one of our favourite things about eyelash extensions – you can have pretty eyes when you wake up, straight out of the shower, and even out of the pool! If you’re swimming in water that is chlorinated or salty, splash your extensions with fresh water afterwards or cleanse them with our Prolong Lash Cleanser kit sold at our location. Avoid detergents, oily soaps and eye-rubbing and your lashes should last well. Try to pat them dry gently.
  • Can I get lash extensions after a lash lift?
It’s best that you wait 6-8 weeks so that the lashes are smooth enough to allow for correct bonding. On very lifted/kinked lashes, it can be difficult to get them to bond well/last properly. If your lash lift is a very gentle curl or has dropped significantly, then it should be fine to proceed.
  • Why are my lash extensions not lasting/falling off faster than expected?
Please have a look at our complete aftercare here for tips on what might be the cause. If you are experiencing any issues in the first 3 days after your appointment (if there is a bonding issue, it will become apparent during this timeframe) please contact us and we will do whatever we can to assist you. Not washing your lashes every day, using the wrong cleanser, or washing too aggressively will lead to retention issues. The oils from our skin break down the adhesive and weaken the bond to the natural lash. It's absolutely necessary for good retention to keep your lashes clean. On the other hand, using a brush that's too stiff or using excessive force while cleansing will pull out or peel off the extensions Please don’t use oily eyeliners (crayon/pencil type liners or gel-pot liners) or waterproof mascara on either top or bottom lids at any point whilst wearing extensions or in the 3-4 days prior to a new set. It’s impossible to fully remove it, and if you come to an infill appointment and have been using this product, most of the appointment wlll be spent cleaning it off the bases of your lashes. The oil/wax in the product will soak into your lash follicle, and getting extensions to bond well will be exceedingly difficult. How long lashes will last varies individually – someone with dryer skin, wearing less makeup but a fuller set of lashes/more extensions will usually get a lot longer out of the extensions than someone with oily skin, using lots of eye makeup, and only wearing a lite set. Hormonal changes, particularly pregnancy, peri-menopause and the onset of menopause, during your period, certain medications (thyroid, roaccutane/accutane) can sometimes cause lashes to not last as well as normal. Please don’t think that it is normal/good for lashes to last 8 weeks without fall out. It really isn’t – if you’ve had lashes elsewhere, and haven’t lost many/any lashes by this point, it’s not a good sign – it means that your lashes are probably all fused together and/or glued to your waterline/eyelid and therefore unable to keep growing and fall out/replace themselves. They need to fall out gradually in order to continue to grow and remain healthy. Normal is 2-3 weeks between infills, outliers with good retention/usually drier skin will get 4-5 weeks, and some people need them every 2 weeks. You may find that you have a few infills that last very well, and then one where they shed a little more quickly. This is due to normal fluctuations of lash growth and cyclic shedding.
  • My own eyelashes have been falling out with extensions attached.. is this normal?
Some people don’t actually realise this, but every day, we lose anywhere from 1-5 natural lashes – much like the hairs on our head, they replace themselves as new ones grow! Usually twice a year (chance of seasons, particularly end of Summer and beginning of Spring you will notice that you lose more natural lashes than normal – this is called seasonal shedding, and you will normally find that your lashes seem to be falling out more quickly than normal – and that a lot of new baby lashes have come through at your next appointment. Don’t be too concerned – it happens to everyone a couple of times a year, and if you are worried, get in touch or talk to your lash stylist who can assess the health of your lashes at any point.
  • Can I get a spray tan with eyelash extensions?
Yes – best to do it AFTER the extension application, not before, and only a light spray on the face.
  • What if I get eyelash extensions but just don't like them?
They can be removed using a professional solution if you decide that they are not for you. But we’re sure this won’t be the case! Take a look at our gallery to see how fabulous they look on our clients.
  • Can I wear contact lenses/glasses with my eyelash extensions?
Of course! You may find it more comfortable, however, to remove contacts before your appointment, or bring your contacts case so you can remove them immediately prior. You need to remove hard contact lenses before your appointment, as they can often prevent you from closing your eyes comfortably.
  • Can anyone get eyelash extensions?
Almost everybody can wear eyelash extensions to increase the appeal and look of their eyes. The difference will be instant – your eyes will look sparkly and refreshed immediately! As the glue is applied directly to the eyelash and does not touch the skin, there is very rarely any issue with allergic reactions.
  • I have made an appointment to have eyelash extensions put on. Is there anything I need to do beforehand?
The main thing is to have clean eyes and eyelashes, free of makeup – especially mascara. Some mascaras contain oils that can prevent eyelash extensions bonding correctly. So please try to avoid using waterproof mascara or eyeliner in the days prior as it can be quite a challenge to fully remove on the day. If you need to come wearing eye makeup, please arrive 10-15 min ahead of time. Be sure to use an oil-free makeup remover if removing makeup, and don’t use any oil or petroleum based products on or around the eye area for 48 hours prior (such as Vaseline or moisturisers) or foundation/primer on the eyelids Don’t have your eyelashes permed – it is very difficult for us to apply extensions on lashes which have been permed within the last 2 months (especially if a tight curl) as often the extensions will not bond very well. If you have had a more gentle lash lift which has dropped, that should be fine. Bring earphones/a podcast or music if you’d like to listen to something of your own, particularly for longer appointments Try to avoid too much caffeine or other stimulants on the day, as it can make it harder to lay still If you have any other questions or special requests, feel free to get in touch! You can always send us a text @ 631-565-5157
  • Are eyelash extensions safe when pregnant?
Generally speaking, eyelash extensions are a safe and non-invasive cosmetic procedure. Youforia Esthetics uses a high-quality, low-fume adhesive that is manufactured specifically for cosmetic use near the eye, and the adhesive is applied to your lash hairs rather than your skin. Allergic reactions to the adhesive are very rare and can be easily treated if they manifest. In saying this, if you are pregnant and have never had eyelash extensions before or have never been to Youforia Esthetics and used our glue products, we strongly recommend a patch test out before your treatment. This patch test must be completed at least 48 hours prior to the booking. The lash extension procedure also requires you to lay flat on your back for over one hour; a position that is not recommended for women in the advanced stages of pregnancy. It also requires that you lie quite still – which can be hard if you’re heavily pregnant. Therefore, you are more than welcomed to bring your body pillow and anything else you'd need to be as comfortable as possible. Please note: if we have been doing your lashes here at Youforia Esthetics and you become pregnant, there’s no problem continuing with the extensions – just let us know so that we can make sure you are comfortable at all times!
  • Do eyelash extensions damage your natural lashes?
Absolutely not – as long as they are applied properly! Here at Youforia Esthetics, we take special care to ensure that our lash extensions are all applied individually and correctly to maintain your eyelash health. Don’t try to remove the eyelash extensions yourself – this could easily damage your natural lashes, as the adhesive bond is extremely strong. We recommend generally avoiding non-specialist salons that do not do a lot of lash extensions (it’s a treatment that requires a LOT of practice to become skilled at) or offer extremely fast volume sets that are done in 60 minutes or so (often called ‘Express Volume”) – this incorrect technique usually involves applying flair/cluster lashes that are not intended to be semi permanent, and often results in damaged lashes, and are typically applied with little to no isolation/glued to your waterline or eyelid. Our aim at Youforia Esthetics is to give you beautiful lashes all the time, with no damage to your natural lashes. We customise your lash extensions so they are the right weight and thickness for you, and apply them carefully with excellent isolation- so your natural lashes will remain as healthy as ever! If you are still concerned, and are a little lash-obsessed (don’t worry, we are too!), we’d recommend using a growth formula that helps strengthen and condition your natural lashes.
  • Is a lash lift suitable for everyone - and does it make a dramatic difference?
A lash lift is where we use various solutions and curved rods to manipulate your lashes into an upwards curved shape – and usually we combine the service with a tint, to make them appear a little thicker and longer. The results of a lash lift however, depends on the health and length of your natural eyelashes. The philosophy behind this treatment is a natural look, as your lash stylist will be working with your natural lashes only. If you have naturally straight, long lashes then the lash lift will produce more of a dramatic effect – if your lashes are on the shorter or weaker side, your lash stylist can still work with them, but the result may not be very noticeable. For some people with very fine or short natural lashes, a lash lift can be somewhat pointless. For those with very hooded eyes, and particularly when combined with not-so-long natural lashes, we don’t recommend a lash lift, as the results are usually disappointing. If you attend an appointment with us and we think a lash lift won’t give a good result, we’ll let you know and can give you other options. There are some cases where a lash lift should not be performed (or with caution). If you are using hormone-altering medication such as thyroid medication or skin/acne medication such as roaccutane or accutane, the treatment is not usually advisable. Hair and hair structure can be affected by hormone changes in the body – and this includes your lashes! These medications can cause inconsistent and unpredictable results in lash lifts. It’s impossible to how the medication will affect the lash, and more often than not it will mean lashes either do not lift at all, or can become over-processed even by using the minimum timings for processing. For this reason, we strongly suggest avoiding a lash lift during this kind of treatment, as we can’t guarantee you’ll get a good result (and we always want to see good results!) – though an excellent option if you’re undergoing hormone treatment (and want a more natural look) is a lite set of lashes. If you have had a lash lift go wrong somewhere else and the lashes are twisted/over-curled (which may be due to over-processing/too strong solutions) we may be able to help – but please get in touch before booking, as re-lifting too soon can cause damage and breakage. *Please note that contraceptive pill will not alter your hormones enough to cause adverse effects on a lash lift – the hormone-altering medicine we’re talking about above is specifically Thyroid medication and Roaccutane/accutane.
  • What can happen if I have a lash lift when i'm on hormone-altering medicine?
Firstly, we must point out that the contraceptive pill will not alter your hormones enough to cause adverse effects on the a lash lift, so please disregard this info if you’re on the pill – lash lifting is fine! The hormone-altering medicine we’re talking about above is specifically Thyroid medicine, Roaccutane/ skin medicine and similar. As all hairs are hugely effected by hormone changes in the body, so are your lashes! When a client is taking hormone medicine listed above, it very often will cause inconsistent results in the lash lift. It’s impossible to how the medicine will affect the lash, and more often than not it will mean lashes either do not lift at all, or can become over-processed even by using the manufacturers guideline timings for processing. For this reason we do strongly suggest avoiding a lash lift during this kind of treatment, as we can’t guarantee you’ll get a good result (and we always want to see good results!) though an excellent option if you’re undergoing hormone treatment is a lite set of lashes.
